Taking Charge!—Program Review

Taking Charge! (TC!) engaged our team to conduct a program review and evaluation of their suite of employment and education programs. Data was collected through five streams: document analysis, environmental scan, staff consultation, focus groups with participants, and external stakeholder surveys.

Impact:

Findings identified the importance of client-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally safe approaches in programming. Recommendations addressed all program stages—pre-program outreach, in-program curriculum design, and post-program supports—providing a roadmap to strengthen outcomes and sustainability. The review directly informed TC!’s pilot of new program models and the development of a long-term evaluation plan.
