Career Trek—Fund Development Strategy

Career Trek, a Manitoba-based youth development charity, sought support to diversify revenue and reduce reliance on government funding. Through document review, online presence scan, and a full-day consultation with staff and leadership, we assessed fund development readiness and developed a four-stage Fund Development Strategy.

Impact:

The strategy laid out a phased approach:

  1. Build internal capacity and raise profile,

  2. Engage networks and early donors,

  3. Diversify through social enterprise and fee-for-service expansion, and

  4. Invest in long-term fund development infrastructure.

By aligning national best practices with organizational capacity, Career Trek now has a clear roadmap for building a culture of philanthropy and financial resilience .
